Identified cases with plagiarism will be reported to Swinburne for disciplinaryactions, which could in turn result in undesirable records and failing unit for the group.• Final written report is in the order of minimum 12000 words (approximately for a group of 2students unless otherwise is expected/permitted by your supervisor) and is to be of a standardsuitable for a consultant’s report to a client, i.e.typed, indexed, referenced and with anabstract and conclusion.For groups of more than 2 students, add at least 3000 words/per additional student to theminimum word count requirement (unless otherwise is required by your supervisor).• For a research work of standard quality, at least 20 reputable papers should be relevantlyreferenced/included in the report (per student). That is a minimum of 60 papers for a group of3 students unless otherwise is expected/permitted by your supervisor depending on thenature of the topic.More details and updates regarding submission requirements may be posted onto canvas. It isstudents’ responsibility to check all announcements regularly.IMPORTANT NOTES:Each research topic must be undertaken by a group of usually 3 students. The number of studentsworking in a group is decided by the convenor considering the optimum number of students foreach topic.Students’ failure to request their research topic as expected in Week 1 could result in a significantmark deduction or even zero mark for the unit (unless a strong and valid justification can beprovided)Lack of integrity, communication, participation and/or contribution from any student or groupcould result in a significant mark deduction or even a zero mark for the unitStudents must request for their topic of interest from a list of available topics/supervisors only.The decision on topic allocations is on the first come first served basis. Once a topic is selected by 3students, it is not available to other students anymore.The defense of thesis oral presentation must be rehearsed and presented using power point.Each student must hold an up to date record/copy of all components of the research undertakenby his/her group (including collected data, any modeling, analyses, experiment, reviewedliterature, etc). This is the responsibility of students to make sure unexpected quit of a teammember, for any reason, does not affect their research progress and successful completion of theunit.
