A central skill in selecting a research objective is the ability to select a suitable and focused research objective. Students will be introduced to a variety of topics related to the theme from which to generate ideas for a good research objective. If you do not receive approval from your tutor that may indicate the research proposal is flawed and students will not be able to produce a valid research project.   There is no word limit for the assessment overall. Students will have the opportunity to meet with a tutor on a one-to-one basis at intervals as scheduled to discuss the progress of the research project.   Your Research Project should be academically structured in a project format and could follow the below structure;     Introduction – This is where you explain what the research is about, include the research aim, research objectives and research question(s) or hypothesis agreed with the tutor on the research proposal.   Literature Review – This section should contain a minimum of 15 references of which at least 10 must be peer reviewed. This is secondary data which will lead to a conclusion and link with the identified aims/objectives/questions and hypotheses stated above. Referencing must comply with Harvard referencing style.   Methodology – This section is where you will explain your research approach and from whom or where you will collect your data, why you have opted to apply your research approach. You will comment on the strengths and weaknesses of your chosen methodology.    Results – In this section you will need to demonstrate your findings gathered from the data collection methods you have used (Surveys, questionnaires, semi-structured interviews or focus groups). Make sure you use adequate tools and techniques to evidence the data you have collated. Consider your costs, access and ethical issues and limitations.   Discussion and Analysis – In this section you will examine what every question/action of your chosen methodology has shown. The discussion and analysis section will explain what your findings show, how it compares to the literature and what future research could be done.   Conclusion and Recommendations – In this section you will state what your facts or findings mean, discussing the key implications arising from the plethora of research you have collected.  Your findings and outcomes should also be related to your initial research aim and objectives, whether you were able to achieve them. Your recommendations should be based on your overall findings.   Reflective Summary – This section will reflect on how you would do it differently if you did it again, knowing what you know now.
