Process Documentation Project

 

The Process Documentation Project is designed to give you experience in observing and documenting a set of processes. You will need to complete three Sudoku puzzles each week through April22, 2014. In addition to completing the puzzles, observe and note the steps you take to complete the puzzles. This assignment will help you develop your logic skills and teach you to discover facts and document a system (a set of processes).

 

I suggest that you use http://www.websudoku.com/ to print and complete the puzzles by hand. As you work on a puzzle, make notes on how you “attack” or complete the puzzle.

 

This websudokusite allows you to select the level puzzle that is appropriate for your experience. As you complete a number of puzzles you will find that your current level is too easy and will choose to move to the next level. The next level will require you to use additional steps (logic) that you didn’t need for the easier level(s).

 

On April29, 2015, you will hand in the steps (processes) that you observed and documented that will allow a “user” to complete the puzzle. Sudoku is completely logic based and therefore lends itself quite well to becoming a computer program or application. Any systematic series of steps can be developed into an application.

 

You will hand in these documented steps via a word document. You will use structured English which is described in Chapter 9 – Process Modeling – of the text and supplement your documentation with an activity diagram.
