Policy Paradox The Art of Political Decision Making 3rd Edition
This written assignment challenges each learner to develop a personal assessment of the Policy Paradox text by D. Stone. The format is to address three elements. NOTE: Your paper is to focus on responding to the questions. You need not focus on summarizing the book. Please contact instructor by June 30th if there is an issue that prevents submission by the due date. NOT a book review. Write the question, respond to the question. Refer to Author Stone. Throw in a theory if needed from Author Dyes book. If you dont agree, state it but back it up with why.
Address the following three questions:
1.Discuss and demonstrate understanding of the political community environment that Stone describes. Discuss how the political community approach is evident in the current policy environment? Provide current examples with some detail to support your response (examples that have occurred within the past few months).
2.Provide one or more current examples in which strategically crafted arguments featuring metaphor, synecdoche, symbols and numbers are used to advance issues of concern. Assess the effectiveness of these tools through detailing a current or recent national or local issue (within past few months). NOTE: Your examples need not differ from example(s) offered in your response to the first part of this assignment.
3.MOST EMPHASIS HERE: Describe and assess Stones overall claim(s) made through this book. What weaknesses do you see in the authors claims? What strengths are evident? What did you learn as a result of reading and assessing the authors work? Thoughtful response to each question is required.
