Mid-term Exam/Master’s Comprehensive Exam

Students should review this information sheet very carefully and determine if they have questions before starting.  The work presented in this assignment should represent the student’s work in research and preparing the responses to the questions based on their own evaluation and analysis of their research not that of others.

General Information
The mid-term exam also serves as the comprehensive “experience” or exam for your MBA, MSMgt, and MSMkt business programs.  Grading of the midterm will include two grades for two purposes: one for the midterm of the course and a second for the comprehensive grade.  The midterm grade will be a numerical grade to reflect the performance on the exam.  The comprehensive grade will reflect a pass-fail consideration.  If a student does not perform satisfactorily on the exam and does not pass the comprehensive, he or she will be given a second opportunity to improve their grade for consideration of the comprehensive grading only.  For the purpose of grading for the course, the first grade will be the one that counts.

The grading process will follow the format for a case project (the 25 questions) presented in the syllabus (and the course text).  A grading form will be used for the process.  The grading form for the midterm will use approximately equal weightings for each of the twenty-five questions (four points each).

Format and Length
The paper should be typed, double-spaced, one-inch margins on all sides, Times New Roman 12 font, with no headers or footers (except for page numbers, if desired).  A title page with the student name and name of the case should be on the front and any exhibits or “appendices” should be in the back.  The text portion of the paper should not exceed twenty pages.  The “text portion” does not include the title page (if used, but is not necessary), the reference page, or any exhibits, graphs or appendices presented at the end of the paper. …
