Personal Philosophy PowerPointĂÂŽ Presentation
What is Moral Obligation? What is the extent of our moral obligation to other people and other living things?
Purpose of Assignment
What is the purpose of studying philosophy if not to refine one’s viewpoints
by comparing and contrasting them to those of others? You are asked to
choose one principle issue in philosophy and to create your own theory
concerning it, using the philosophies of your predecessors as support.
Background: Humanity has learned from Aristotle, Aristotle learned from
Plato, and Plato learned from Socrates. Throughout this course, you have
studied the historical development, key contributors, and principle issues
of various genres in philosophy. In this assignment, you will be able to
think about which principle philosophical issue from our studies is most
important to you, and which philosophers have influenced your view
concerning it.
