Thisassessment is designed to improve student presentation skills and to give students experience inresearching a topic and writing a report relevant to the Unit of Study subject matter.This assessment covers the following LOs.LO3: Conduct research on emerging tools and techniques for the stages of knowledge creation,acquisition, transfer and management of knowledge and recommend the most appropriate choicebased on expert judgement on the practical needs.LO4: Apply and integrate appropriate KM components to develop effective knowledge managementsolutionsINSTRUCTIONSThese instructions apply to both the Presentation and Research Report assessments only. Thepaper you select must be directly relevant to Knowledge Management, Knowledge Transfer,Knowledge Modelling or Knowledge Engineering topics. The paper can be from any academicconference or other relevant Journal or online sources such as Google Scholar, Academicdepartment repositories etc. All students must select a different paper, thus the paper must beapproved by your lecturer or tutor before proceeding. In case two students are wanting topresent on the same paper, the first who emails the lecturer or tutor with their choice will beallocated that paper.Note: Group Assessment.Presentation and Participation – 5% (weeks 9-12)For this component group will be required to do a 5-10 minutes presentation on an academicpaper based on Knowledge Management, Knowledge Transfer, Knowledge Modelling orKnowledge Engineering.A grade of 5% of the Units mark will be awarded for the group presentation. Use 1.5 spacingwith a 12-point Times New Roman font. Though your paper will largely be based on the chosenarticle, you can use other sources to support your discussion. Citation of sources is mandatoryand must be in the Harvard style.Your report or critique must include:Title Page: The title of the assessment, the name of the paper you are reviewing and its authors,and your name and student ID.Introduction: A statement of the purpose for your report and a brief outline of how you willdiscuss the selected article (one or two paragraphs). Make sure to identify the article beingreviewed.Body of Report: Describe the intention and content of the article. If it is a research report, discussthe research method (survey, case study, observation, experiment, or other method) andfindings. Comment on problems or issues highlighted by the authors. Discuss the conclusions ofthe article and how they are relevant to what you are studying this semester.Conclusion: A summary of the points you have made in the body of the paper. The conclusionshould not introduce any ‘new’ material that was not discussed in the body of the paper. (One ortwo paragraphs)References: A list of sources used in your text.
