Calculate heat transfer area of a plate heat exchanger which is used for cooling of oil. Massflow rate of oil is 2 kg.s-1 and it is cooled from temperature of 65 °C to 25 °C. Water withinlet temperature of 20°C and with outlet temperature of 40 °C is used as a coolingmedium. Overall heat transfer coefficient is 180 W.m-2.K-1 and mean heat capacity of oil is2 kJ.kg-1.K-1.Result: Heat transfer area is 71.5 m2.VII.2 Reaction mixture is cooled from temperature of 150 °C to 80 °C in a counter-current heatexchanger with a bundle of tubes in a shell by cooling water.
