analyze the design of a document. Write up your analysis in memo form and include an introductory paragraph that also serves as a summary of your analysis. Your analysis section should be divided into a number of sections (through the use of headings), each corresponding to the specific design principle discussed within your textbook and in class. Within each section, use your lead sentence to make a statement about the writer's use of that design principle: for example, that the writer effectively used that principle (for example, contrast) to design the document; then provide specific examples from the document to support your claim. You need not read the document, but you may need to skim introductory passages or summary material in order to understand the context and purpose for the document; otherwise, simply glance through the document, observing

2. Alignment – heading levels, structure
3. Grouping – white space as frame, headings as frame, borders/rules
4. Consistency – headings, pages, lists, graphics, page numbers, typeface
5. Contrast – shading, background color
