Neighborhood Book for School-Age Children 5- 8
please read the attached reading with this order and based on these readings create a book for children age from 5- 8 use photography to of their own choosing (alphabet, counting, narrative, etc.).
you should take inspiration from the readings which talk about home language, home culture and the importance of school-community connections.
The book should:
· Provide a range of images you can use online image and be creative,
· Include the components of quality children’s literature as covered in the reading and make sure when you write the reflection after finishing the book to post some quotes from the readings
· Be appropriate for the age range selected (please indicate an age ranging from 5-8 years old you should choose an age and write your book trying to enhance the literacy of that age).
The final part of the assignment (turned in with, but not a part of, the book) will comprise:
· An activity plan (using the format provided with this order) that articulates how the book could be used to enrich students’ skills in at least one domain of literacy learning,
and
· A one-page reflection on what was learned about activity planning, the school community, and teaching young students as a result of this assignment.
